Under the Table (30 April 2026) is a photograph of KillersForLunch beneath a wooden table in a dark room lit by neon signage. The source notes state the artist was found there stalking. The photograph is consistent with the notes.
Description
The room is nearly empty: a dark floor, a run of small lights along the wall, pink and blue neon above. The table stands mid-frame, and under it, small in the shadow between its legs, is the artist, face toward the camera, watching. How long the artist had been there before being found is not recorded. How long the artist remained after being found is also not recorded, which readers tend to find the more uncomfortable of the two.
Interpretation
Within the wider record this is the clearest early document of the artist's fieldcraft. The later corpus depends on appearing at venues, drawing, and departing unseen; the discipline visible here, motionless in furniture-shadow at one in the morning, is that method in rehearsal. The catalogue's position is that the artist was practicing observation. The catalogue's position is held from a safe distance.
