You, Indicated

From YouWiki, the free encyclopedia of You
Content advisory. The photographed state of this work includes a defacement added by an unknown third party before documentation. The addition gives the figure a toothbrush mustache and is understood to be intended to make it resemble Adolf Hitler. The defacement is not the artist's work. The photograph is retained because it is the only surviving record of the drawing beneath it.

You, Indicated (documented 4 July 2026) is a drawing by KillersForLunch and the earliest unobstructed appearance of You. It is executed in magenta marker on a bare tan wall and is regarded as the type specimen of the species: the form against which all other appearances of You are measured. One earlier You is on record, in The Leviathan of Blue Team, but that specimen is inside a mouth and unavailable for anatomical reference.

Description

You occupies the center of the wall as a wide ovoid. Two small eyes sit far apart above a mouth that runs most of the width of the body. Six whiskers extend outward in two lateral groups. The legs are short and angular, a construction that would trouble an anatomist and does not trouble You.

Above the figure the artist has written "you" in looping script and drawn an arrow downward, bent once, terminating just above the head. The identification is unambiguous.

A small black rectangle sits above the mouth near its midpoint. This mark is not the artist's. It was added by an unidentified third party in the interval between composition and documentation, and its placement and shape identify it as a toothbrush mustache, applied with the evident intention of making the figure resemble Adolf Hitler (see the advisory above). The catalogue records the mark as vandalism, condemns it, and notes that You's own expression is unchanged beneath it, which the vandal presumably did not anticipate and cannot have found satisfying.

Composition

The wall offers no horizon, no furniture, and no scale. You is therefore whatever size the viewer decides, a generosity typical of the artist's early period.

Provenance

Photographed at 02:40 local time, after the defacement had already occurred. The original wall has since been repainted by forces outside the artist's control, as walls are. The photograph in this article is the sole surviving record of both the work and the mark upon it; no clean-state record exists.

Reception

As the type specimen, the work anchors the anatomy of the entire corpus. The chronological record begins six days earlier with The Leviathan of Blue Team, but that specimen is inside a mouth, so every anatomical question still comes back to this wall.
