The Night Court (2 August 2026) is a drawing by KillersForLunch in two shades of blue marker, executed in the air at a beach volleyball venue after dark. It is the most recent work in the catalogue and the first documented under a night sky.
Description
You appears in the standard form: the rounded body, wide-set eyes, the long level smile, whiskers, two thin legs beneath. The court is unlit and unoccupied. To the left, a refreshment stall stands closed; to the right, a net post goes unused. A palm tree sits behind the lettering without comment.
The word "you" is written above the figure with an arrow descending to the crown of the body. Further lines enter the composition from the right and terminate near the right eye. Whether these are a second arrow or the right whisker group is disputed. If an arrow, this is the first work in which You is indicated twice, an emphasis nobody has explained. If whiskers, the work is orthodox and the debate has wasted everyone's time. Both camps note that You appears comfortable either way.
The venue at night
The setting is the volleyball facility previously documented in The Leviathan of Blue Team and You at the Seaside. The seaside account reported a daytime sky that the venue maintains at all hours. That arrangement has ended. The sky here is dark and contains stars. Whether the night was scheduled, or whether it arrived with You, is not recorded.
Three appearances at one venue make this the most surveyed site in the corpus, and the only place where You can be said to keep returning, or to have never left.
Composition
Two blues are in use, close enough in the dark that the seam between them moves depending on the light and the viewer's confidence. Every prior work could in principle be checked against full sun. This one cannot; it was made for the hour it was found in.
Provenance
Photographed at 00:59 local time. The refreshment stall displayed a shaved-ice banner, though no service was observed. The court was reserved for no one.
